Application Information

Applications accepted To enter school in september, a child must be at least three years old on or before december 2 nd . school offers a tuesday/thursday session for 3 year olds (3 years old by dec. 2nd ), monday/wednesday/friday session for 3 year olds (3 years old by july 15th ), monday/wednesday/friday session for 4 year olds (4 years old by dec. 2nd ) and a pre-kindergarten session for 5 year olds (5 years old by dec. 2nd). all first time applicants are encouraged to visit the school during regular hours. no appointment is necessary. all children must be toilet-trained before entering nursery school. all children entering the nursery school are required to have a pre-entrance physical examination with required immunizations (title 22:101220.1). the health form and the medical release form must be returned before school starts in september.
Acceptance criteria: Admissions priorities are as follows: Returning students. Children of Church members in good standing for at least a year (active, attending, and pledging). In order to qualify for special entrance privileges as a Parish Member applying or returning to Nursery School, applicants must be active and pledging members of the Church for at least one year prior to making application to the school To become a church member, please request a new member form and a pledge card from the parish office. Indicate that you wish to become a member, and be entered into the Parish Register as a new member. If you have been an active member of another Episcopal Church (or, if out of country, another Anglican Church), request a Transfer of Membership to be sent to St. Edmund's. It is not necessary to become a Confirmed Episcopalian prior to becoming a member of St. Edmund's, though confirmation is the usual course taken by serious adult members who have not yet become Episcopalians. Active membership involves Sunday attendance and participation in the life of the parish. The Nursery School administration consults the Parish administrator each year at admission time to determine whether returning student families who have asked for special entrance privileges under the Parish Membership clause continue in active status. Siblings of current or former students. The children of alumni. All other students. Admission is open to pre-school children without regard to race, religion, denominational affiliation, or ancestry
