Application Information
| Applications accepted | Because our preschool teachers have neither the facilities nor the time in their busy schedules to change diapers or for potty training, all preschool children are expected to be potty trained when school begins. when they need to use the bathroom, they must be able to notify the teacher themselves and attend to their own hygiene. we invite you to drop in anytime for a guided tour of our facility. to ensure that you view the children involved in a classroom setting, the best time for a tour is between 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.. no appointment is necessary. children may enter this class as five-year olds or they must turn five by december 31st of the school year that they enter the pre-k class. |
| Acceptance criteria: | Although we are happy to take names for a waiting list, our first priority is to have a well balanced class. Your position on a waiting list does not guarantee your child will be called to fill a specific slot. Waiting lists end in May with the end of our school year and are not carried over to the following year. Teddy Bear Junction admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, or religious preference. Pre-K Children from the waiting list will be contacted on a space available basis with older children being called first. Consideration will also be given to balancing the boy:girl ratio |

A Season of Rituals
Darkest December is upon us, and we are all preparing, in our different ways, to light it up with rituals. Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year's. Parties, tree lightings, and holiday cards. Visits with family. Feasts, gifts, and candles.
Montessori? Waldorf? Play-based?
What school type is right for your child? Is one model better than another? What does the research say?

Today's “Preschool’s Out” Activity
Get large plastic buckets (or sand buckets if you have lots of really little toys )in a variety of solid colors (red, blue, yellow, green, pink). Ask your child to clean up his/her toys by putting the toys in the bucket corresponding to the color bucket. Great for teaching personal responsibility, color identification, and sorting.
