School Philosophy and Mission
"Seton's Ark is a part of the greater parish community of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Our mission is to assist parents in the task of forming each child's values according to the gospel. We are called to:
ASSIST children in attaining their full potential in an open trusting atmosphere through recognition of their own talents and a willingness to share with others.
RESPOND to each child's educational, emotional, physical, and social needs as well as help them grow spiritually in an environment which fosters love of God, love of self, and love of others.
KINDLE the joy of learning that will enable each child to be creative, use problem-solving skills and questioning as part of the learning process.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
In August, the Seton's Ark staff will gather to discuss specific goals for the new school year. In addition, classroom teachers will establish their own unique classroom goals. These goals will be incorporated into the goals of the entire program. All goals must reflect those of our mission statement. Goals which you will find consistently timeless throughout the program are:
* Affirm the concept of prayer based on gratitude for all God's gifts.
* Provide a wide range of age-appropriate learning activities with respect for each child's abilities and interests.
* Provide a positive daily environment in which a child's self-esteem is developed, nurtured, and enhanced.
* Help all children develop friendships and social skills, which will enable them to realize they are a part of the larger faith communit"
