School Philosophy and Mission
We feel that children develop to their full potential when they are given the opportunity and environment which allows the to "want to know". In a nutshell that is what we are all about - helping a child explore the start of the roadway leading to knowledge, awareness, and self-expression.

Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
On a typical day a child would arrive at school around 9:00 AM and be escorted to their classroom by a parent or guardian. Parents will normally stay and interact with teachers untill 9:15 when morning meeting or "circle" with the children starts. Morning meeting is the time when teachers introduce projects, discuss current learning experiences and do such things as "calendar", "weather", "Show n tell", "birthdays", "holidays", "book reading", etc. After morning meeting comes a supervised free play when children choose activities such as sand-table, doll corner, blocks, puzzles, board games with teacher, etc.. At 10:00 AM is "second circle" where a teacher will read a book pertaining to an art project for the day. Following this they start the art project. At 10:45 children visit the bathroom, wash hands and then have morning snack. Following snack children go out to the playground for outside physical activities. Children who are not in the lunch and extended day program are picked up at 11:30 AM. The ones that are go inside, wash up, and have lunch. After lunch comes rest and then supervised free play. Two to three times a month are special visits by a music teacher. Once a week are special visits by an art teacher.
