School Philosophy and Mission
Treehouse is a ministry of First Covenant Church. The school was established in 1975.
Treehouse Preschool and Kindergarten provides a warm and supportive atmosphere which fosters the training of the whole child: intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Within this atmosphere of Christian love and nurture, we strive to help children develop problem-solving skills, independence, and a positive self-image. We believe that by learning responsibility for self and respect for others children will acquire a strong sense of well being, which is fundamental to a healthy transition into higher levels of learning.
The Treehouse Preschool and Kindergarten provides a well-rounded curriculum preparing the children for the next class or grade level. Age appropriate curriculum is presented according to individual readiness and growth.
Children are given the opportunity to make choices. By making choices the child learns that their feelings, thoughts, and emotions are worthwhile. They also learn the consequences of their choices, and gain competence in decision making, which leads to success and motivation in future learning.
At Treehouse, we present an understanding of God as a loving Creator and Friend who personally cares about each child. We believe that such an understanding is fundamental to the development of the whole child. Christian values are taught through the use of selected songs, Bible stories, and character building. We desire to provide an atmosphere where each child can experience the great love of our Heavenly Father, through our actions and example.
