School Philosophy and Mission
"We desire to meet the needs of the whole child and to promote spiritual and moral growth, academic and intellectual progress, and physical and social development. Our emphasis is high quality education combined with the knowledge that God's principles are the confirming basis for our actions and understanding.
Capitoland Christian School is operated as a ministry of Capitoland Christian Center. The Church, along with the school, is non-denominational, and admits students of any background.
Our kindergarten and elementary curriculum covers language arts, math, science, social studies, health and Bible. Bible is an important part of our teaching, as our primary objective in teaching Bible is the development of Christ-like behavior in each student. Our weekly Chapel program is designed to reinforce and supplement the teaching of the Bible through word and song. Curriculum and textbook materials are taken from Bob Jones University Press and A Beka Books. Art, physical education, and music are also taught once a week to enable students to develop their abilities in a wide range of activities.
Teachers and staff members function as role models for students. The professional preparation of the instructional staff is a part of the school's testimony and its commitment to parents to provide quality instruction for its students. The low student to teacher ratio also allows for more individual attention to each student.
Capitoland Christian School has the responsibility to provide the best education possible. As Christian educators, we desire to teach each student to accept individual responsibility to God for their actions and to challenge them to glorify God in every facet of their life.
