School Philosophy and Mission

We believe a nurturing school environment should provide children with a secure, caring and playful atmosphere similar to a home. We are a small close-knit community dedicated to all aspects of child development. Specifically, we focus on the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and cultural growth of the children. Our goal is to provide a balanced program that includes a well-defined educational curriculum and critical social growth experiences. At TLC, we consider it essential that children have time to play and interact at their own pace. To ensure a quality program, our experienced educators place emphasis on forming a loving relationship with each child. In the style of the European international schools, the child to teacher ratio is small and the age groups are mixed. This approach allows for many advantages over the more traditional, large homogeneous age groups. Specifically mixed-age grouping places children that are at least a year apart in the same classroom. The main idea is to encourage children of different ages to learn from one another as they interact in a school setting. Among many of the benefits of this concept is that young children develop sibling-like bonds that fosters care and concern for one another. An important aspect of our program is to ensure an open line of communication and mutual respect between the school and parents. This allows us to provide the best possible care for each child and family. Please contact us to explore the opportunities in becoming a part of the TLC experience.
